2006 ARCHIVES

Nick Scheuble, an area jazz drummer and composer who's appeared or recorded with artists such as Roy Haynes, Bill Crow, Tomoko Ohno and many others co-hosted the December 29 edition of Brown Semana with JoJo.
Kurt Reil from The Gripweeds phoned home to chat with Jumpin' JB about their new Christmas single on the December 21 edition of Paleface Makes Big Noise.
Katie Sobo welcomed acoustic P.R.Y.D.E. to her Radio Kiosk on November 10.
Sher interviewed Steve Forbert on a very special Sher Delight on November 1.

On October 12, Jumpin' JB had a full slate of interviews, including Kara Suzanne (from The GoJo Hearts), Slade from the New York Vaults, and Tiokasin Ghostface, host of First Voices, one of the country's top indigenous programs.

On September 7, Kath Cameron's Swirly Sunburst Brunch featured an interview with Tara Bowers from the Foodshed Alliance.

Jumpin' JB chatted with Danny Zion of the Brooklyn-based, reggae/rock band Cool & Deadly on Thursday, August 24 during his Paleface Makes Big Noise program.

David Ganz joined Johnny Maj on the August 10 edition of The Railroad Earth Happy Hour for some in studio performing and chinwagging.

Beth & Jules aired their interview with Slaid Cleaves on the July 18 edition of FREE FOR ALL.

Jumpin' J.B. interviewed Brett Mitchell, one of the featured performers at the HGRNJ Winefest at 7pm on July 14th during his Paleface Makes Big Noise program.

On Wednesday July 5th, Peter Biedermann's Sound In The Head show featured an in-house performance with acoustic and electric guitar instrumentalist Glenn Zervas. His CD "Grace Notes" can be heard at http://www.gzguitar.com.

Katie Sobo's Radio Kiosk on Friday, July 7th featured her phone interview with Jeff Ruch, Exec. Director of PEER (Public Employees for Environmental Responsibility), who discussed the 10,000 American scientists who are protesting EPA library closures.

On Sunday, July 2, Grammy winning keyboardist John Ginty popped into our studio to visit with Bryan Delp on Shut Up & Play Guitar!
On Wednesday, June 21, Peter Biedermann's Sound In The Head featured keyboardist Don Slepian for a live in-studio broadcast. For more info check out http://donslepian.com.

Paleface Makes Big Noise welcomed Mojo Beauregard back on June 9 as JB's summer co-pilot. JB also hung out with his special in-studio guest, Neal Casal.
On May 19, Paleface Makes Big Noise welcomed our very own Kate Sobo (Radio Kiosk) and Quartermoon for an In-Studio performance to help promote their Genesis Farm appearance on May 21. JB also chatted with Vicky Emerson by phone to discuss her new disc "Reach."
On May 12, Jumpin JB interviewed Tom Gray (Delta Moon) on Paleface Makes Big Noise. Tom used to be in The Brains out of Athens, GA and they wrote and performed the original version of "Money Changes Everything," which was a huge hit for Cyndi Lauper.
On Tuesday, May 9 at 9am, Beth & Jules aired an interview they snagged with Luka Bloom during his last tour.
On May 2, Beth & Jules interviewed Joe Jencks on Free For All.
Peter Biedermann and White Light gave a fantastic live performance John Hammel's Mozart To Motorhead show on April 29.
Johnny C interviewed Brady Rymer on his Tapestry Show on April 27 to celebrate his new children's CD "Every Day is a Birthday."
Beth & Jules interviewed Angelo M, a top-notch songwriter and finger-picker who has launched a touring career after spending 30 years as a steelworker on the April 25th edition of Free For All.
Peter Biedermann's April 19th Sound In The Head program featured the return of singer-songwriter Chris Koch.
Jumpin' J.B.'s Paleface Makes Big Noise featured an interview with former Beau Brummels lead singer Sal Valentino on April 7.
Delia Quigley welcomed Andrea Beaman to Building Healthy Bodies on April 6 from 11am-Noon. The "Top Chef" contestant gave us the dish on each episode!
On March 30, Delia Quigley hosted Dr. Paul Connett, who discussed the important topic: "How Deadly is Fluoride in Your Food and Water?" on her Building Healthy Bodies program.
On St. Patrick's Day, Katie Sobo invited her special guest - artist, educator, and peace advocate, Susan Berkowitz to the Radio Kiosk to discuss Susan's creation of "All People's Day!"
Delia Quigley welcomed Dan Poynter, author of "The Self-Publishing Manual, How to Write, Print, and Sell Your Own Book" to Building Healthy Bodies on March 16.
Katie Sobo welcomed Welsh/Celtic-style singer-songwriter Jodee James to her Radio Kiosk on Friday, March 3.

On Wednesday, March 1st, Peter Biedermann's Sound in the Head program featured an interview and live in-studio performance with New Hampshire singer-songwriter Jeff Haines.

Katie Sobo welcomed Professor Louie and Miss Marie of Prof. Louie & The Crowmatix to the Friday, February 24 edition of her Radio Kiosk. The mad professor and Marie filled us in on their recent trip to Siberia and their special appearance at the Stanhope House on Saturday March 4.
Thursday, February 23 was a special day full of guest performances and interviews on HGRNJ. First up, Delia Quigley welcomed Jean Charles, life coach and extraordinary woman to Building Healthy Bodies.

Directly following Delia, Bry;bow interviewed Rick Clarkson and Renee Huntley about the demise and rebuilding of the Knowlton River Festival on Neon Afternoon.

At 3, Johnny C welcomed Steve Shalit to Tapestry. Steve opened Swampadelica's Stanhope House show back in December and Johnny & Steve spoke about and played roots music (both live & original vinyl) from the Delta & other regions.

Finally, at 9pm, Greensky Bluegrass performed live on the Railroad Earth Happy Hour!

Ben W. Tettlebaum, the Outdoor Education Coordinator for the Mohican Outdoor Center dropped by the HGRNJ studios to talk with Kath Cameron about the Mohican's outdoor education programs for kids on the  Thursday, February 16 edition of Kath's Swirly Sunburst Show
Free For All hosts, Beth & Jules celebrated Valentine's Day with Jack Tannehill on Tuesday, February 14.
Kate Sobo welcomed Japanese journalist, Tetsuya Suzuki into her Radio Kiosk on February 3.
On Sunday, January 29, the Swirly Sunburst Brunch (11am-1pm) Bunch welcomed Brian McLoughlin for a special live In-Studio performance.
On Friday January 27, Kate Sobo welcomed, poet, author, environmentalist, and peace & justice advocate, Anna Maria Caldara to her Radio Kiosk. Anna spoke about sharing a jail cell with Cindy Sheehan, the St. Patrick's Four trials, and more.
Ian Smit made a live trek through the Sound In The Head program with Peter Biedermann on January 18th. Check out some of Mr. Smit's joyful noises with the band Monkeyworks.
Belly-dancing minister Sherri Van Houten joined Kath Cameron's Swirly Sunburst Show on Janaury 19. Sherri is an ordained minister with a Masters in Divinity from Drew University and is also the director of the Champagne Girls Charity Belly Dancing Troupe. Sherri enlightened us with tales of how she mixes dance, divinity and her calling to use belly dancing as her ministry.
Sher (host of Sher Delight) interviewed British singer/songwriter, Mark Timothy on January 10.
Bruce Andresen of Pocono Music Productions visited Todd and The Mighty Rickster's Jams, Gems  & Jibberish on January 10 to talk about the upcoming Commander Cody show (with special guests, Acoustic Sausage) at the Sherman Theatre in Stroudsburg, PA on February 3.
The January 12 edition of Swirly Sunburst Show with Kath welcomed Cathy Bao Bean, local author, lecturer and advice columnist. Cathy is the author of "The Chopsticks-Fork Principle, A Memoir and Manual."

2005 ARCHIVES

On Friday, December 30th, Rick Savage welcomes the marvelous singer/songwriter Eric Cooper to The Producer's Corner at 1pm. Eric's 16 years belie his amazing talent and fans of Nick Drake are well-advised to tune in!
Patrick Fitzsimmons and Swampedelica stopped by to chat and perform on Johhny C's Tapestry program on December 9.
Rick Savage interviewed master world percussionist Todd Isler on the Friday, November 25th edition of The Producer's Corner. Todd discussed his percussion studies in India & tours to Africa & played cuts from his cd "Duets:Two Step & Beyond."
On Tuesday, November 1, Sher welcomed Kate & Paul for some live In Studio music and interesting conversation on Sher Delight.
Jumpin' J.B. interviewed New York singer Kirsten Thein, on the October 28 edition of Paleface Makes Big Noise. Kirsten willll be gracing our studios for a live performance in January.
Rich Bobbe & Paul Yost hosted a very special one-time program, The Rich Bobbe Radio Show on Saturday, October 22nd.
Peter Biedermann and Sound In The Head presented Chris Koch performing live in our studio on October 19.
Len Mooney and Todd Mills interviewed Jemimah Puddleduck and the John Ginty Band live in our studio on Len's "Groove On" program on October 19.
Peter Biedermann welcomed Mark Williams, a professional bodyworker, teacher and neuro-scientist want-to-be to share the air on the October 12 edition of Sound In The Head on October 12.
Liza Thomas, Chairwoman of the Joan Knechel Memorial Walk co-hosted Nancy's Oasis on October 7th.  Liza discussed the October 16 walk to benefit the new Joan Knechel Cancer Center at Hackettstown Regional Medical Center and hung out with Nancy for the afternoon, playing music and having fun!
Jumpin' J.B. interviewed local legend, Billy Hector on the September 23rd edition of Paleface Makes Big Noise. And in another HGRNJ exclusive, J.B. kicked off his ongoing tribute to The Byrds with a special commemoration of the 32nd anniversary of the mysterious death of Gram Parsons, and a phone-interview with Phil Kaufman, Gram's road manager and the chap who burned his body at Joshua Tree. 
Beth & Jules interviewed NJ singer/songwriter Catherine Moon on the September 6 edition of their FREE FOR ALL program. Beth & Jules discussed Moon's latest activities, her appearance as part of a benefit for New Jersey Peace Action on September 18, and even cajoled some new songs from her bag.
Guitar instrumentalist Jody Price was Peter Biedermann's guest on the August 24th edition of Sound In The Head, performing material from his "Bliss" recording.
The August 7 edition of  Ron's Oldies & Doo Wop Show featured famed astrologer Ray Sette.
Jumpin' J.B.'s July 30 episode of Paleface Makes Big Noise featured interviews with Nik Gruswitz, who read one of his poems and talked about the art scene in Burlington, VT. Kenny Stearns also dropped by to perform an hour of acoustic blues/gospel live in the HGRNJ studios.
Peter Biedermann of the Sound In The Head program conducted a phone interview with Andrew Durkin, leader of the Industrial Jazz Group (IJG) ensemble on July 27th. More info about Andrew and his work: www.uglyrug.com.

On a very special Sound In The Head on June 29th, Peter Biedermann welcomed Jumpin' JB ("Paleface Makes Big Noise") and their special guest, John Hammel for a round-table discussion of the current state of music. We hope this will be the first in a series of such discussions amongst HGRNJ DJs and special guests.

Nancy D and JB interviewed Nashville singer/songwriter Amelia White during their June 24th crossover. Later that same evening, jazz guitarist Walt Bibinger phoned in to chat with JB about upcoming gigs and his performance on the popular "Jerry Jams Jerry Cares" tribute CD to the music of Jerry Garcia and The Grateful Dead.
Johnny C. welcomed Nina Peterson to our humble abode to perform songs from her latest release, "New York Daydream" live in our studio on the June 9 edition of "Tapestry."
Nancy D and Jumpin' JB interviewed New York singer Tessa Souter during the "Nancy's Oasis"/"Paleface Makes Big Noise" transition on June 3.
On the May 11 edition of "Erin's Scenic View," Mary Beth McDonough joined host Erin Mills live in the studio for a loving tribute to Mindy Jostyn's life and career. And later that evening, Peter Biedermann welcomed David Daniels into the studio during his "Sound In The Head" program.

The Jancys joined Jumpin' JB for a special live, in-studio performance on the April 29 edition of his Paleface Makes Big Noise program. 

Jumpin' JB and Nancy D (from Nancy's Oasis) also conducted a live phone interview with North Carolina singer/songwriter David Lamotte which bridged their April 22 shows.
Todd Mills & The Mighty Rickster hosted Special In-Studio Guests, The Scarecrow Collection on the March 22 edition of Jams, Gems, & Gibberish.
