MAY 31:
We're Gonna Booglarize Ya, Baby!
THE
BOOGLARIZERS

The Booglarizers' recent CD,
"Extra Crispy" presents thirteen original tunes about love, food, and
other controlled substances, all composed by Richard DiPaolo. The band's music
includes fingerstyle guitar, mandolin, harmonica, clarinet, tuba, washboard and
drums! Their vocalists have harmonized, crooned and growled together for over a
quarter century!
The band have developed a loyal
following who come to their raucous shows to enjoy an infectious blend of early
country blues, ragtime, jugband, New Orleans-style jazz and R&B with just
the right touch of funky, barrel-house vibes. The band's repetoir mixes original
tunes with old-time legends from Ledbelly and Robert Johnson to Ray Charles, Ry
Cooder and Jim Kweskin.
So come on down for a rockin' good
time and remember what the good Captan Beefheart said, "I'm Gonna
Booglarize Ya, Baby!"
A
surgeon by day and a talented singer at night, Nicole
Kafka will be Carl Worner and Bob McKay's special guest on the Memorial Day (May 26th)
holiday edition of "What's It
Called? Considered to be a Renaissance Woman, Nicole has sung in venues as
disparate as New Jersey bars, Harvard University and Carnegie Hall. Her
repertory includes a wide range of music and her big voice, full clear tones and
musicianship are matched only by her beauty, charm and wit. She will be
performing a new show "Deliciously Twisted" with musical director
& pianist David Epstein April 16 & 23rd at 7pm at the Laurie Beechman
Theatre at the West Bank Cafe in NYC. I'm sure Nicole won't be performing any
operations during our interview.
As Carl says, "We're not just whistling
"Dixie" on our show!"
