I am The Soulful Mr T.

I hail from and broadcast remotely from Jersey City, NJ and I’ve been involved with the popular music scene since the 1960s.  I am a deep listener and very active patron of live music, seeing over 75 live shows in 2025 and more than 50 so far in 2026. I take a very clear approach to music, i.e., all music is inherently good, and all music is somehow related somewhere down the family tree.

I will share music I enjoy and appreciate. I’ll share the music of the bands I’ve seen live and describe those experiences. I’ll make recommendations of music to listen to and to see live. There is no experience like seeing musicians live, seeing them create beautiful art in front of your eyes. Especially in the small clubs throughout lower Manhattan where jazz and other non-Taylor Swift music is performed.

On my show, I’ll share a wide variety of pop music, including:

• Rock and roll and R&B

• Lots of Latin music and Latin adjacent music, mariachi, Fania-era salsa, Latin jazz, and more

• Hip-hop

• Polka

• Calypso and Soca

• Folk and Country

• Music from Germany, Belgium, France, Spain and more of Europe

• The best of Bollywood playback singers

• And some fun novelty stuff here and there

(I use the word “share” rather than “play” because I broadcast this music for the enjoyment and edification of my loyal audience.)
