"Our friend, John "Jay" Nolan has died, with no warning, from a heart attack. Soulful Harmonica, sweet vocals and a funny wit, Jay will be so missed. Family, friends and fellow musicians are shocked and heartbroken. Whether you shared the stage, saw him play, or went fishing with him, you know he was special. I don't know what to say, every word hurts. We Love you Jay."

I share Richie's profound sadness over this loss. Jay was only 61 years old. He was always smiling, had a twinkle in his eye, and was a Fabulous Harmonica Player with his band mates "The Booglerizers" for some 40 years. Jay, along with his bandmates have performed on 3 occasions for HomegrownRadioNJ. First at an In-Studio Saturday Night Concert. Next at our Fall Fundraiser in 2008 @ Historic Blairstown Theatre, and also at our HGRNJ 2009 Summer Music Festival. HomegrownRadioNJ has lost an important and beautiful member of our extended Family. Our deepest and most heartfelt condolences go out to Richie, Brian, Gerry, Bob, and all the extended Booglerizers Family, and friends, and most especially Jay's Family. I plan to make a charitable contribution in Jay's name on behalf of HomegrownRadioNJ.
